The Commander and the Head of the DIA visit Auckland – Feb 06

(PS To see the great video from the park that was here before, click here).

We enjoyed a fabulous fly-by from illustrious guests Mummyand Daddy Lloyd pretty much as soon as we had touched down ourselves in New Zealand.  The night before they arrived we moved into our new home – Grand Drive (it’s a VERY grand drive, but only a little house!) and so with one bed, one kitchen table and some saucepans to our name…we welcomed our first staying guests (Greg and Karine….you are still our first visitors!)

In between scrubbing the kitchen, buying furniture off Trade Me (Kiwi equivalent of ebay) and eating, we managed a grand tour of local sites.  We visited Epsom Girls Grammar School (and took some pictures for you Rosemary of your old school!) to show Mum and Dad my new classroom and we stopped off at SKM offices to show off Phil’s workplace in Newmarket.

We had a wonderful day exploring the North Shore (‘Shore) and  Mt Victoria where you can get stunning views of Auckland (we seemed to spend more time upside down though there…see photos…..and all because of ‘crazy kids’ brother Matt and bridesmaid Caz who started a craze in handstands when we left Heathrow airport back in January).  We lounged around on Milford Beach too….and Mum and Dad went for THE longest beach walk and swim EVER!

Dad took us out for a delicious meal down at the lovely city beach of Mission Bay…this has become one of our favourite haunts, and Philand I have had quite a few good swims there.  Sunday saw us going to St Pauls Church in central Auckland where Phil and I have been going to church before taking M&D to the airport for their flight back to Sydney (but we won’t dwell on that)…

Kayaking! It was awonderful and very happy few days…thankyou J&J…it all went rather too quickly though :(

NB For those not in the know,DIA is the Davenham Intelligence Agency – and this refers to JulieT Lloyd

NBB And we were also given a few surf tips...I now see where Matt get's it from!

Surf's up dude!
