In the NZ winter, Epsom Girls Grammar Geo department headed for a bit of summer sun in the middle of the Pacific. Heralded losely as a Geo trip to study Tourism Development, it really was rather an excuse for some beach and shopping arcade time!

We stayed near the famous Waikiki beach and did some trips to see key sites on Oahu. Top left shows the Pink Palace Hotel on Waikiki waterfront. In the middle is the girls wearing their Leis and right is Waikiki Beach with volcanic Diamond Head in the background.

Me in front of the Duke's statue - the famous surf legend of Waikiki Beach.

Hanauma Bay on the east coast of Oahu - we snorkelled here with a million other tourists!

Pearl Harbour and the USS Arizona Memorial - this photo shows one of the turrets of the Arizona.

On the memorial pontoon.

The North Shore of Hawaii - where all the BIG waves happen

The little island is in the film South Pacific - where she sings "I'm going to wash that man right out of my hair!"
